Earn or buy access to anything on Livemocha

You can unlock everything–lessons, feedback, etc–on Livemocha using either Points (which you earn) or Beans (which you buy).

Points

You can redeem your earned points for lessons, feedback, activities, and more. You earn points by completing learning activities (for example, you will earn points each time you answer a question) and by helping others. The more you learn and the more helpful you are, the more points you will earn!

When you earn points, you’ll hear a “cha-ching!” sound and will see more points being added to your stack in the top left corner of every page.

Anytime you would like to unlock a new activity or piece of content, you will see the price in both beans (which you buy) and points (which you earn).  Click on the points icon to unlock something using your points.

If you don’t have time to earn the points you need to get what you want, you can always buy Beans, which will give you immediate access to anything on Livemocha.

Click on the beans to use your beans to unlock the item you want. If you do not have enough beans to purchase something, a modal will pop up that will allow you to buy bundles of beans. Once you have bought a bundle of beans, you can use them to purchase anything on the site.

Fast and Easy Ways to Help Others

Screen Shot 2013-01-29 at 9.51.40 AM

Star Ratings

You can help others learn your language (and earn points!) quickly and easily by providing star ratings for their exercises.  You can rate any exercise in your native language (i.e. if you are an English speaker, you can rate any English exercise). By giving a star rating for each skill level, you are helping the learner see where they’ve done well and where they can use improvement.
