It’s not all pop, rock, and soul.
This week, I decided to switch things up a bit when I stumbled upon this first video. I found it after having watched a BBC Learning English clip talking about Silbo Gamero, an ancient whistled language from La Gamera, Canary Islands. The clip was short so I went looking for more, and found this lovely (10 short minutes) of history and culture. Now, I know that it’s not music, per se, but it lead me to find the other videos that are included in this week’s post.
The world moves so fast these days. We often forget to look back to the path that led us to the point where we stand now. I hope you enjoy this look at traditions, and culture… and I’ll tell you what, next week I’ll post some Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber if this seems too out of whack. OK?
