It’s Labor Day weekend here in the U.S. and Seattle, Washington, Livemocha’s home town, is the place to be for one of the country’s largest music and arts festival: Bumbershoot. This world class, three-day festival has been taking over the Seattle Center for decades and has become a part of the fabric of this city. Produced by One Reel, Bumbershoot epitomizes Seattle’s creativity and diversity and plays host to hundreds of top notch musicians, artists, and performers, and to thousands of revelers each year.
This year’s diverse lineup includes music acts like Jane’s Addiction, Tony Bennett, and Gotye, comedy acts that’ll keep you rolling, the 1 Reel Film Festival, a literary arts stage called Words & Ideas that’ll get you to thinkin’, performing arts from dance to burlesque and symphonic quartets and clowns, and so much more.
Whether you’re in Schenectady or Sidney, you may not make it to Bumbershoot this year… but there’s always next. For now let’s have some music, shall we?
If you’ve turned on the radio this summer, chances are you’ve heard this song: Somebody that I used to know. For something a little different, check out this video that is showcased on the Gotye website. (very cool)
When I say world-class, I mean artists from around the world take part in this fantastic festival. Here, folk and pop sounds of Syria – Omar Souleyman.
And, what a treat to have legendary singer, Tony Bennett.
