What is kismet? It’s a word with roots in Turkish, Persian, and Arabic, that means fate, or a predetermined or unavoidable destiny.

It seems fitting that a word with such diverse etymology and arbitrary nature would embody the way in which two very happy Livemocha users met. He, a Dane, wanted to learn Spanish. She, a Colombian, wanted to learn Danish. They were randomly paired to practice their target languages in 2008, and August 19th, 2012, Phillip and Ginna were married.

Congratulations Phillip and Ginna! Thank you for sharing your story with us. Here’s betting your target languages are going to get pretty strong in the near future.
